Mac Friendly 5 by .. DSMatt4 (Chicago, IL)
We've got the new 13" white unibody mac with an external monitor HP GP536A8 L1908w 19-Inch Wide LCD Monitor, mac's crazy compact Apple Wireless Keyboard (Retail Packaging) and the new Apple Magic Mouse. It's a great set up, but because my wife crunches the numbers in our house I wanted to make sure she had everything she needs. AND Apple has NO bluetooth number pad that they make and the ones made for mac's aren't up to snuff and cost twice as much. Other than the coloring, and the fact that I have to actually buy a microsoft item, this has been a great addition to this convertible mac miniature powerhouse!
BTW, I use Rubbermaid Mini Sorter GREY - 3 Compartments Wire Mesh Office Organizer to prop up the macbook and keep the desk space clear.

Great piece that has been needed for a while 5 by .. T Blair (Charlotte, NC)
Why did it take so long for someone to make a simple 10 key that is bluetooth? Finally! And it works great!

Great Product for newer MacBook users 5 by .. Joshua E. Sateia (Pittsburgh)
Here's the basics of this Bluetooth keypad:

Good size - it's not compact, but I didn't want a compact keypad. I wanted a "normal" size keypad, and now I have one.
Button responsiveness - it feels fine. I'm not overly impressed, but it works great.
Aesthetics - definitely looks better than some other options on the market, though it's not going to be the centerpiece on my dining room table.
Power - has on/off switch, which is good (not all bluetooth devices have those). Yet, it also goes into "power save" mode when the switch is left on and the keypad hasn't been used in about 5 minutes (I haven't actually timed it). This is good, so that if you forget to turn it off, the battery isn't dead the next day. After it has gone into power save mode, I hit a key to wake it up, and it only takes 1 second for the keypad to wake up and for my computer to recognize the input (I thought it would take at least twice as long). Plus, it comes with a AAA battery! There's nothing worse than getting your new bluetooth keypad in the mail and not being able to use it because you don't have any extra batteries on hand. The battery was tucked away in the packaging, so don't forget to look for it!

Now, here's the specifics on it interacting with my MacBook Pro:

I have a newer MacBook Pro (13-inch, mid-2009). These MacBook Pro's got rid of the keypad that was overlaid on certain letters and numbers on the keyboard. So, consequently, there's also no numlock key on my MacBook's keyboard. This is great, because when you hit the numlock key on this Bluetooth keypad, it doesn't cause my h, j, and k keys to all of a sudden become numbers. So, I can have the keypad on and usable, but still have full access to my keyboard at the same time. I know that other reviewers didn't have the same experience as I have, probably because they have a numlock key on their laptop's keyboard.

But, not only does hitting the numlock key on the keypad not cause ill-effects for my keyboard, on Mac OS X (I have Snow Leopard, not sure if this works on other operating system version), when I am using the Mac Calculator application, the numlock key acts as a "clear" key. Which is awesome! There's nothing more annoying than typing numbers away on your keypad, and then having to hit the "c" key on the keyboard to clear the calculator.

Of course, what this means is that you cannot turn numlock off for the keypad, which means my "4" key won't become an arrow left key, and my "6" key won't become an arrow right key, etc. But, who uses those directional keys anyways? Just use the ones on the actual keyboard, and keep your Microsoft Bluetooth keypad reserved for happy number crunching and calculator manipulation!

For those who need a number pad 4 by .. Jeffrey S. Schweitzer (Los Angeles, CA USA)
I bought this after an exhaustive search for what you might think would be a popular item. I have a new, beautiful 27 inch iMac, but the bluetooth keyboard from Apple, and even the one from Logitech, lacks a number pad. Why this is so, when the previous generation of bluetooth Apple keyboards were full keyboards, and why Logitech can't make a bluetooth instead of only a USB version, I have no idea. But I use the number pad all the time and wanted a bluetooth version.

This one fits the bill. I would have to say that its color scheme fits the new iMacs better than the Apple keyboard (black instead of white). The item feels solid and the key action is similar to the Apple. It pairs with the iMac without difficulty. I take away one star simply because of its annoying property going to sleep every 15 minutes if not used. This means that when you first use it after that length of time it takes a few seconds to "wake up" and pair itself before the numbers you enter appear. Once you get used to this it is not a big deal.

Thanks, Microsoft, for providing this, and shame on Apple for making me put an item with a Microsoft logo in front of your otherwise outstanding system....

compact and connected! 4 by .. O. Azan (Jamaica)
im extremely happy with this bluetooth pad. it is strange that they seem so hard to find, but this one really shines in any case. compact, attractive, with very easy to use and comfortable buttons AND comes with a case to protect it. the only gripe i have, is i wish it came with an "=" button... to make formulas in spreadsheets that much easier to work with using the device... all in all tho, great product.
