Outstanding Product w/Great Cooling and Stability

Trudging through the vast desert of laptop cooling platforms I stumbled upon a cool Targus Chill Mat oasis whispering to me with its quiet fans. Engineered specifically for the Macbook it diverts hot air away from the molten core that is the Intel processor, easing the torment it causes its neighboring components and your lap.
Skepticism spawned from negative reviews and a lack of performance specifications made this a hesitant purchase. Some have noted that their Macbooks slide from the Chill Mat without warning as though it were coated with teflon and butter. For the better part of three months our Macbook has remained on the Chill Mat and it has not decided to go skiing off the mat to the floor. Even trying to push on the laptop it does not slide from the mat without a great application of force. No glue, velcro, nails, or other fasteners are needed. Small rubbery pegs elevate the laptop a few millimeters from the surface of the matt which hold the laptop in place and allows greater air circulation.
Now on to the performance specifications I so desperately wanted, but could not procure. Here they are for the tech nerd in all of us:

These differences may not seem spectacular, but the cumulative effects of thermal wear on the components of your laptop (and more importantly your lap) will be reduced.
One last note and offer of assistance. We purchased a USB extension cable to plug the Chill Mat into our USB hub rather than plugging it into the laptop. This frees up a USB port on your laptop and reduces the demands on your laptop's power supply.

Having had a iBook for several years, I upgraded to a new MacBook Pro recently. I wanted to be able to keep it "cool" and off of my lap directly.
After some research from other MacBook users, the ChillMat was suggested. I love the design, its no-fuss simplistic design makes it cozy for my MacBook Pro to sit on my lap with out any bulk underneath or on the sides. It keeps it cool with fans (and they are not loud nor do you feel their "vibrations". It plugs into one of your USB ports on you computer and is basically unnoticeable. It is great for everyday use on your lap and I also use it at my desk. I ordered it on a Tuesday night and it arrived Friday (I did not pay for extra shipping) it came from a vendor in a nearby state. It has been good to me since I purchased it in June :)

This Targus table works flawlessly with my Macbook Pro 15. Though it is a little bit of stretch over the bottom mac's surface, it really would take away the heat from the machine.
