HP 4GB Flash Drive
by .. Richard A. Serra (Orlando, FL USA)
I use these drives for work file backup. Having been bitten by the "lost backup" bug once, I am now super cautious. Previously I had been using Iomega Zip drives for work file backup and something happened that I could no longer access the drives and I paid through the nose to Iomega to recover the data, which only turned out to be 95%. So now I use one 16 GB USB drive as my first backup (not HP) which remains plugged into a USB port. The 5 HP 4 GB drives I use independently one at a time as they are catagorized as "System", "Multimedia", etc. I like them because they are ruggedly built and will not physically break like so many of the plastic ones.
The Energizer Bunny of Flash Drives
by .. Collin Garner (Nampa, ID)
Ok, so we can all agree that a flash stick is just a flash stick right? I felt the same way about this one until... I had lost track of my flash stick this week. Kind of a big deal considering that I had an insanely high amount of important fiddle faddle on it. Well... today, my girlfriend reached into the washing machine, and low and behold, in the middle of the wet jeans... there it was. This little gem of a flash stick had gone through an entire run of laundry. So, would it work? I was skeptical but wanted to hold on to the slim chunk of hope that it might still work... Plugged it into the laptop and......BOOM! There it is with all of its little files and documents, right where I left them.
I highly recommend this little guy for anyone who wants an uber bad-a$$ flash drive!
Sturdy, works as expected

Not too much may be said about an usb memory. In this case, I found this very sturdy and working as expected. Not 5 stars because the main rubber portion (the one protecting the chip unbinded and from that moment on, I must be careful while removing the cap. Not a big issue, however.
OK, rubberized, but larger than necessary.

Today most flash drives are a dime a dozen. For me, it's a balance of performance, style and price. This was totally adequate/acceptable, but for me the size increase was too much to just get the rubberization.
