It's a tight squeeze, but your passport and usb cable (the short one that comes with) will fit just fine in this case; the reason I gave 4 stars is because it is a bit of a pain because you the USB has to be flat, which. The older passports with the angled sides will occasionally pop out of place before you can zip it up but really, it's not that difficult and if it wasn't snug, what would be the point? Overall its a cute case and feels sturdy enough to protect the drive from damage incurred by a short fall or from banging around in a bag or briefcase.
The product doesn't claim to be water proof or water resistant, but since there is never a time that I don't have a coffee with in reach, I decided to run an experiment of my own by holding it under a tap running at full pressure for 10 seconds. The results? A very small amount of water managed to sneak in through the zipper when holding the zipper directly under the tap, but nothing sneaked through else where. My conclusion is that if you spilled a glass of water or cup of coffee on it and wipe it up in a reasonable amount of time, unless by some freak occurrence the liquid in question manage to for a high pressure stream and direct itself at the zipper, your passport would remain dry (and unstained, I also tested with coffee :), the end.

Goes perfect with my red Western Digital Passport. Wish there were a little more room for more than just the HD and cord, but works fine either way.

It is a nice case, but it should have an elastic band inside to hold the external drive.
